In Vu’s Bar we just changed our snack menu, called NOSH.
Before we had those selection:

My idea is, that in a bar, the beverages should be highlighted by the food and not vice versa!
The response was not really overwhelming! Of course we sold some items, but it was everything but a huge success!
Now I do not want to blame somebody; I really value James’ effort - and he is a great master of creating amazing things. Still - if I need to create drinks for an event or functional (e.g. as aperitif), I need to take me back and do some drinks which are less demanding and controversial.
Bar food has the analogue necessity!
Now James is gone for a while (working as Executive Chef in a fantastic resort in Oman) and Chef Emil is the one who needed to put his thinking cap on!

I will directly see, that the present selection of food is greater then before...
To tell you frankly, I was surprised about the response! We are selling the food very good (if you take into account, that it is a more a vibrant bar and not a bistro... and there is no comparison to the older menu!
In one of the coming posts, I will discuss a little bit my ideas, how perfect bar food supposed to look like!
So stay tuned and post a comment, if you have some thoughts about it, which I could include!
Bar snacks are a must for a good bar - however sandwiches like here are rather inappropriate...
